
MARY MCGEE ANDREW
ANDREW, MARY MCGEE - The passing of Mary McGee Andrew of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Alexander Fraser Andrew "Sonny" occurred on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born on November 10, 1911 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Louisa (Russell) Ritchie. Mary graduated from Saint John High School in 1929 and from MacDonald College in Guelph, ON in 1930. She completed her degree in Dietetics at Pratt Institute (Columbia University) in New York in 1933. Mary was a member of the IODE-Lady Moraponsaby Chapter, the NB Home Economics Association, Canadian Diabetes Association, Lock Lomond Fishing Club, Riverside Golf and Country Club and a Volunteer for the Dr. V.A. Snow Nursing Home. She loved the outdoors, golfing, fishing, hunting and travelling the world. Mary enjoyed life to the fullest; she had a wonderful sense of humour and was very kind to everyone, especially the sick. Mary is survived by her daughters, Mary Louise Anderson and Barbara Grace Hart (Stephen); grandchildren, Heather Ermantrout, Kelty Pharand (Garth), Peter Hart (Jan), Thomas Hart (Natalie), Jeffery Hart and Susan Hart (Mike); nine great grandchildren, Kayle, Fearon, Drew, Luke, Sam, Kathleen, Alex, Aidan and Kyra; special friends, Ann Marie Fleming, Janie Donaldson and Ralph Fowler. A service to celebrate her life will take place at St. John the Evangelist Church, Main Street on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 11 am with a reception to follow. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to St. John the Evangelist-Building Fund or York Manor Building Foundation.
