CANAM, MARTINA MARIE - 1933 - 2009 - The death of Martina Canam of Florenceville occurred on Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Martina was born in Holmesville, NB, on September 19, 1933, daughter of the late Martin and Marion (Broad) Gee. Martina was an employee of the Bank of Nova Scotia in Florenceville until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of the Florenceville Curling Club, enjoyed fly fishing and filled her life with as much music as possible. Martina was a loving wife to her husband, Kenneth, for 53 years and a devoted and caring mother to her children Johanne (Kim Hargrove) of Fredericton and Kenneth (Kim Weston) of Ottawa. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to her three grandchildren, Susan Hannan of St. John's, NF (Colin Mercer) and Lauren and Eric Canam of Ottawa. She is also survived by her sisters Shirley Gee (Buddy), Sharon DeMerchant (Allan), Chris Broad (Sid), her brother Terry (Debbie) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Perry. Visitation will be held at L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors 207 Burnham Rd., Florenceville on Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 14, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel in Florenceville. Rev. Oral McAffee will officiate.
