GREER, BARBARA ANN - Mrs. Barbara Ann Greer of Sussex, NB passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 18, 2009 at the age of 74. She was the daughter of the late Earl Sr. and Rita (Day) Graves. Barbara was born in Saint John, raised her family in Willow Grove and retired in Sussex. She worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia for 27 years. She attended St. Paul's United Church, was a member of the Women's Institute and also the Belleisle Seniors Group. Family was first and foremost in Barb's life. To work a full time job and raise five children is quite an accomplishment. Barb enjoyed bingo and playing cards (especially 45s). She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and did so extensively throughout Canada and the United States. Barb is survived by her husband, Irvine; three daughters: Catherine Rankin (Geoff) of Fairfield, Wendi Hopey (Robert Hachey) of French Village and Sherry Weston (Geoff) of St. Martins; two sons: Irvine Jr. of Fairfield and Scott (Lori) of Quispamsis; nine grandchildren: Garrett, Scott, Samantha, William, Charlotte, Laura, Cameron, Carter and Charlie; her brother, Earl Graves (Anna) of Saint John and three sisters, Midge Causey (Sterling) of Norwood, ON, Dorothy Algiers of Toronto, ON and Rita Hebert (Fernette) of Saint John. Predeceased by two sisters, Bert Poley and Shirley Ryan. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) Where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 7-9 and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Celebration of Barbara's life will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 2:00pm. The interment will take place at Roachville Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations to Breast Cancer Research would be appreciated by the family.
