MacDONALD, CALVIN JAMES - Peacefully on August 20, 2009 in St. Catherines, Ontario (formerly of Saint John, N.B.) with family present, Calvin lost his short battle with cancer. We are thankful for the time we got to spend with him before his passing. Born on January 18, 1950 in Stephenville Crossing, NL, son of James MacDonald and the late Alda Madore. Calvin spent over 40 years working on freighters through out the Great Lakes. He was employed for the past 20 years as a Marine Engineer for the Canadian Steamship Lines. He is survived by his son Andrew and grandson Adam of Saint John, companion, Bobbi-Jo Alton and son Calvin, brothers Stephen, Patrick (Elinda) of Ontario, John (Vie), Joseph of Saint John, Daniel (Donna), Robert (Sandra), Paul (Sheila) and Leonard of Ontario, sisters Marilyn Walton (Billy) Alberta, Rosemary Landry Nicoles (Nick), Lucy Stevens (Carl), Della Hanchar of Saint John, Roseanna Reid, Ontario, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Charles. As per his wishes, there will be no Funeral Services and his ashes will be scattered on the Great Lakes and his urn to be buried with his mother in Stephenville Crossing, NL.
