ROY JOSEPH HENRY BERTIN

BERTIN, ROY JOSEPH HENRY - It is with deep sadness that we announce that Roy Joseph Henry Bertin devoted husband for 33 years of Carolyn (Roy) Bertin of Latimore Lake Road passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on August 31, 2009. Born 1955 in Bathurst to John and Marie (Geldart) Bertin of Saint John. Roy was a School Bus driver and worked for District #8 for 26 years. He was a member of CUPE Local 380 and St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend; he loved the outdoors, gardening and had a special flare for cooking. He was a tinkerer, always busy and working hard. He loved and cared for his family and friends. Besides his parents, Roy is survived by his loving wife and best friend Carolyn; son Michael Bertin (Christine); daughter Alicia Robichaud (Ken); one precious grandson Odin Robichaud; sister Lillian Lynch (Wally) all of Saint John; several brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and many friends, especially Doug McKinney whose support, strength and friendship will always be cherished and appreciated. Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday, September 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4347 Loch Lomond Rd. on Friday, September 4th, 2009 at 11:00 a. m. A reception will follow. Private family interment to take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Roy's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice.
