CUTHBERT, (JOHN) LLOYD - 92, passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 at Saint John Regional Hospital. An intimate service will be held Friday, September 4, 2009 at 10a.m. at Holy Family Parish, 1500 Hanwell Road, Hanwell, New Brunswick. Mr. Cuthbert was born September 9, 1916, in Lochiel Township, Glengarry County, Ontario to Daniel J. and Bella (Kennedy) Cuthbert. He later served as Lieutenant in the Canadian Army during World War II. On December 28, 1946 he married Audre Louise Pearce in London, Ontario and together they had one daughter, Heather. Mr. Cuthbert and his family moved to Saint John, New Brunswick, where he worked for many years for Hiram Walker & Sons Limited until his retirement, whereupon he enjoyed favourite pastimes such as playing golf and bridge. Mr. Cuthbert is survived by his sister, Eileen Cuthbert; son-in-law, Angel Gómez; grandchildren, Erica Gómez and her spouse, Jeff Clark, Marco Gómez and Danny Gómez as well as great-grandchildren, Hannah, Aidan, Xavier, Sofia and Mia. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Audre Pearce and daughter, Heather Gómez. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
