MAUREEN FRANCES BOWLING
BOWLING, MAUREEN FRANCES - March 10, 1925 - September 2, 2009 - Following a courageous battle with cancer, at home Maureen accepted her Lord and Saviour's invitation to come home on Wednesday, September 2nd. Maureen had an infectious personality and had a strong love of family, friends and animals, especially her cats Peggy and Henry. She loved her time spent at Grand Lake and later at Cambridge Narrows where she spent many pleasant hours growing her endless rows of corn and tomatoes and being followed by her pet chicken. Never one to pass up a yard sale or bargain Maureen also had great passion for the other loves of her life dancing, skating and playing cards and always had a special place in her heart for the underdog. Born in Saint John to the late John & Laura (Daley) O'Brien, Maureen had an extremely strong faith and will greatly be missed by her Beloved husband of 60 years Arthur; son Michael Bowling (Brenda); daughter Kimberlea Bailey (Corky Thompson); grandchildren Ian Bowling (Angela Carpenter), Carly Maillet (Mike), Melissa Dyckow (Linwood Hatheway) and great grandchildren Sydney, Michaela, Matthew and Aysen. Maureen was predeceased by her daughter Susan; Mother & Father Laura & John O'Brien and her sister Margaret Constance. Maureen requested no visitation but there will be a Memorial Mass Saturday, September 5th at St. Peters Church at 10 A.M. The family wishes to thank Dr. Stephen Myers, Dr. Chris O'Brien, Palliative Care, Carol Thompson, Cathy Vautor & Trena for their compassion. Because of her love of people and animals Maureen requested any donations be made to The Animal Rescue League or Romero House 649 Brunswick Drive.
