ELDRIDGE, ELVENA MAE - At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB On Sunday, September 13th, 2009, Elvena Mae (McDowell, Lord) Eldridge of St. Andrews, NB . Wife of Carman Eldridge. Born in St Andrews, NB, she was the daughter of the late James Ross and Myrtle V. (Stewart) McDowell. For many years Elvena was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, St. Andrews, NB, St. Andrews Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and Order of the Eastern Star. For many years Elvena was the owner and operator of the family business The Variety Store, a long term institution on Water Street, St. Andrews, NB. Elvena is survived by her husband, her son, Bill Lord (Cathy) of Winnipeg, Man., grandsons, Murray Lord of Winnipeg, Man., Colby Lord of Gatineau, PQ, step daughter, Linda Dyke(Danny) and grandsons, Michael and Ian of Dartmouth, NS, stepson, Terry Eldridge and grandsons Matthew and David of Moncton, NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband Colby Lord, her parents, brother, James McDowell, and sister, Dorothy Charlton. Resting at All Saints Anglican Church, 75 King Street, St. Andrews, NB, from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009 at 2 pm. Visiting hours will be held at the church on Monday, September 14th, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm. Interment in St. Andrews Rural Cemetery, St. Andrews, NB.
