DWAYNE PAUL SLEEP

SLEEP, DWAYNE PAUL- On Thursday, September 17, 2009, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Dwayne Sleep went to be with his Lord and Savior whom he loved dearly and modeled in his daily life. During his time in the palliative care unit at the SJRH, he was surrounded by his loving family and will be sadly missed by his best friend and wife Sandra (nee Poplar), children Christopher and Mikhayla, and parents Paul and Myrtle (nee Morrison) Sleep and his grand- father, Harold Sleep. Born in Fredericton, NB, on May 23, 1968, he was a graduate of Harrison Trimble High School (1986) and UNB Fredericton (1992, Electrical Engineering) and was a 15-year employee with Bell Aliant, formerly NBTel in their Saint John office. Dwayne was a member and deacon at Grand Bay Baptist Church and leant his musical gifts to leading worship there as well as at his parents' church on Grand Lake. He was so proud that his children inherited his love and gift of music. One of Dwayne's favorite spots was the family cottage on Grand Lake and he treasured moments boating, skiing, hunting and singing around the campfire with friends and family. He was equally at home leading a team meeting at Aliant or bouncing on the trampoline with his nephews. In addition to his wife, children and parents, Dwayne is survived by his brother Darren (Melanie) of Montreal, sister Natasha Fougere (Paul) of Fredericton, parents-in-law Peter and Mary Poplar of Moncton, brother-in-law Stephen (Cathi) Poplar of Riverview and nephews Riley Fougere, Elijah & Benjamin Sleep and Hudson Poplar. Funeral arrangements have been made with Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be at Grand Bay Baptist Church on Saturday, September 19, from 7-9pm and on Sunday, September 20, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be Monday, September 21, at 11am at the Grand Bay Baptist Church, followed by interment at 4pm at the Cumberland Point Community Cemetery. There will be a reception at the church in Grand Bay before departing for the interment. Donations, in memory of Dwayne, may be made to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, Grand Bay Baptist Church, First Grand Lake Baptist Church or the Harrison Trimble "Fallen Trojans" endowment.
