GILBERT, LAWRENCE - The death of Lawrence Bernard (Larry) Gilbert, loving husband of Mary Eleanore (Johnson) Craig, of Rollingdam, NB occurred on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the Charlotte County Hospital. He was predeceased by his first wife of 52 years Mary Veronica (O'Leary) Gilbert January 21, 2006, sister-in-law, Constance O'Leary and brother-in-law, Gerald O'Leary. Larry served in the Canadian Military for 15 years. He worked for the Province of New Brunswick and the Government of Canada in Industrial Safety. He was involved with Scouting, was a practical joker, an avid Montreal Canadians Fan and a friend of Bill W. In addition to his wife, Eleanore he is survived by his son, James (Dawna) of Fredericton; daughters, Mary Jean Brown (Glendon) of Baxter's Corner, Laurie Kincade (Hughie) of Fredericton and Karen McCully (Jeff) of Quispamsis; Eleanore's children, Ross Craig of Montreal, Peter Craig (Joanne) of Waweig, NB, Patricia Craig-Hotte (Yvan) and Gaynelle Craig; sister-in-law, Ellen Kennedy; brother-in-law Ronald O'Leary; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday October 8, 2009 at 11:00 am, with visitation from 10 am until service time. A reception will follow the service. A private family interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
