FRANKLAND, BURTON - Mr. Burton C. Frankland of White Head Island, NB passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital Friday October 9, 2009 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 10, 1933 on White Head Island and was the son of the late Blake and Violet (Denton) Frankland. Burton was a long time lobster fisherman and well respected member of his community and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Dawn (Upton); his two daughters, Phyllis Farquharson, and Sheila Johnson (Allan) both of Guelph, ON; two step sons, Rev. Karl Ingersoll (Elaine) of Fredericton, NB, and Rev. Turner Ingersoll (Ruth) of Bellville, ON; two grandchildren, Darcie and Paige; five step grandchildren, Kristi, Erin, Karl, Tira, and Tayson; two step great grandchildren, Taylor, and Quin. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Marion McDonald. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday October 14, 2009 from the White Head Baptist Church at 2:15 pm with Rev. Karl Ingersoll officiating, and Rev. Jim Appleby assisting. The interment of Burton's ashes will follow in the summer at the North Head Community Cemetery.
