KENNETH LEE PERKINS

PERKINS, KENNETH LEE - Passed away unexpectedly at his residence on October 14, 2009. Born on January 22, 1921 in Sussex, NB, he was the son of the late Oscar and Margaret (Munroe) Perkins. Loving husband of the late Frances (Douthwright). Kenneth was a World War II Veteran, who served with the North Shore Regiment. He was thrilled to return to Holland in 2005 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Liberation of Holland. He loved the outdoors and loved to garden. He loved the farm life and was a farmer most of his life. He enjoyed doing crafts with his wife and when she passed away he took up rug hooking as a past time. He was passionate about his ball games and hockey, especially the Montreal Canadians. Kenneth loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was active in the Wirral Baptist Church and was an honorary trustee. He is survived by his son, Harold (Heidi), of St. Stephen; 4 daughters, Linda (Stephen) Perrin, of Clarendon, Judy (Raymond) Morrow, of Edmonton, Alberta, Valorie Perkins, of Grand Bay-Westfield and Sharon (Kevin) MacLennan, of Nerepis, NB; 2 brothers, Roy (Anne), of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and Ronnie (Vondelle), of Fairvale, NB; 13 grand- children, 11 great-grandchildren; several sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Donald, George, Lloyd, Ralph and Lawrence and sisters Florence, Marjorie, Doreen and Doris. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West, (634-1701) visitation will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2009 and Sunday, October 18, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from Castle Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. There will be a reception at the Fallsview Family Reception Center, following the interment. Donations, in memory of Kenneth, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
