JAMES WILLIAM MURDIE
MURDIE, JAMES WILLIAM - The death of James William Murdie, loving husband of Agnes (Nice) Murdie occurred on Thursday October 15, 2009 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1922 at Craigenputtock, Scotland, the farmhouse once owned by Scottish Author Thomas Carlyle. James was the son of the late Robert and Christina (McWilliams) Murdie. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Carlton Union # 8 F & AM as well as a member of the Scottish Rites of Saint John. In addition to his wife Agnes, he is survived by his children Robert of Saint John, Ralph of Grand Bay - Westfield, Mark of Saint John, Margaret Lockerbie of Saint John and Linda Moore (Gordon) of Midland; sister Nancy Kirkpatrick of Rothesay; brother-in-law Hiram (Janet) Nice; sisters-in-law Verna Lee and Beatrice Nice; grandchildren Matthew and Jeff Murdie, Alec Moore, Crista (Sean) McNulty, and Veronica and Natalie Lockerbie; great grandchildren Kailyn and Sadie McNulty; several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). By request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
