L. MURRAY MACCALLUM

MACCALLUM, L. MURRAY - Passed away on September 28, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Saint John. Born at Central West River, Pictou County, N.S., he was the son of the late Campbell and Willena (MacKenzie) MacCallum. Before retiring he worked for many years as Director of Traffic and Sales Manager in the highway transport industry and was owner of Star Tack Ltd. He served in the RCAF during World War 11 and was a member of Saint John Legion Branch #69 and a member of Truro Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife Stephanie Lynne (Brown); stepson, Karl Conrad of Saint John; daughters, Karen Allen of Annapolis Royal, Valerie McFadgen of Halifax; and four grandchildren. Also survived by his sister, Doris Pope of Hartford, Connecticut, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one son, Bruce MacCallum and several brothers and sisters. Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John (646-2424). Respecting his request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Murray may be made to the Animal Rescue League or the donor's choice.
