LAPLANTE, NORMAND - Peacefully surrounded by his family at his residence, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2009, age 68, from Tracadie-Sheila, Mr. Normand LaPlante. Husband of Sandra MacMillan. He was the son of the late Gérald LaPlante and the late Apolline McLaughlin. He is survived by his two daughters: Annette (Daniel Savoie) from Pointe-à-Bouleau, Janet (Jean-Pierre Ouellette) from Dieppe; two sons: Raymond (Céline Losier) from Tracadie-Sheila, Marc (France McGraw) from Pont-Landry; eight grandchildren: David, Mathieu, Tracy Lyne, Pascale, Alexie, Kayla, Lorianne, Ryan two sisters: Géraldine from Losier Settlement, Marie-Paule (Robert Mineault) from Gatineau; one brother: Gérard (Alfreda) from Pointe-à-Bouleau; two sisters-in-law: Eveline (late Denis LaPlante) from Tracadie-Sheila, Rhoda de Kingston, Ontario; one brother-in-law, Wilfred Benoit (late Marthe) from Sudbury ; a lot of nephews, nieces and cousins. Predeceased by two brothers; Robert, Denis; two sisters, Marthe, Rolande. Mr LaPlante worked has a welder and pipefitter for over 45 years. He was a member of the Welders and Pipefitter Union Local 799 of Miramichi. Resting at Robichaud and Sons Funeral Home, 3875, Main Street, Tracadie-Sheila on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 2 pm. The Funeral services will be held at the St-Jean Baptiste Church of Tracadie on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 11 am. Visitation hours Wednesday 2 to 4, 7 to 9, Thursday 9 until the departure.
