KEMP, ANNIE DORCAS - It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Annie D. Kemp of Saint John, widow of the late Gregory Kemp which occurred at Turnbull Nursing Home on October 21, 2009. Born 1910 in Saint John, the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha (Ready) Ferrie. Annie worked in retail sales for Calp's for many years retiring in the late 80's. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend she enjoyed bowling, cooking and playing cards. Surviving are sons, Dennis Kemp (Debbie) of Saint John and John Kemp (Paula) of Baxter's Corner and one daughter, Julie Kemp of Saint John; two sisters, Muriel Laird and Ruby Vanwart both of Saint John; grandchildren, Carl (Lianne), Jacqueline Henri (Derrick), Christopher, Bobby (Angela), Patrick and Kimberly (Adrian). Besides her parents and husband Gregory, Annie was predeceased by a brother, Robert Ferrie; sisters, Mabel Johnston, Hazel Watson, Marjorie Laird, Edith Keleher and Eva Fisher; one grandson, Gregory Kemp in 2006. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424). By Annie's request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 24th, 2009 at 10:00 am. Interment to take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
