BETH CARROLL
CARROLL, BETH - Mrs. Beth Edith Carroll went on to glory with her Lord and Savior Friday, October 30, 2009 at her residence on White Head Island, NB. For 65 years she filled Lester's life with joy and love. Beth conducted her life in strict unyielding order: God first, Lester second and family third. She was truly a lady of Faith in Action! Mom loved to "cook up a storm". So much so, that her pantry usually looked like tornado had moved through. At days end it went back to being meticulous, and her meals were always the BEST! Never considering anyone a "stranger" Beth and Lester would open their well kept home with a full course meal at a spur of a moments notice to any new friend, or whole families. Over the years they shared their home with many Missionaries visiting the White Head Baptist Church, friends from Ontario, and construction crews who boarded at the only available accommodations. Loving and caring for her family was always important, she was so proud of their late son, David Colby who enjoyed great success as a highline lobster fisherman. Her daughter, Chris loved to challenge and amuse her endlessly. Mom opened her home, arms and heart to all of the "birth family" that Chris had found in the early 1990's, making them feel as they were as much a part of the family as she. Grammy Beth was a loving, caring Grand Mom and Great Grand Mom. Her granddaughter, Holly was her pride and joy; she was more like a Mom than Grand Mom. They became the closest allies and confidants as the years progressed. Left to grieve, full of beautiful memories and Glorious Hope; her husband Lester; one daughter, Chris Morse (Blake); daughter-in-law, Dianna Carroll all of White Head Island; one sister, Gwen Gordon of Toronto, ON; one brother, Alvin Paterson of Bellville, ON; granddaughter, Holly Cook (Kendell); grandsons, Darrin Carroll (Maureen), and Brett Morse (Jennifer) all of White Head Island; four great grand daughters, Jessica, Jillian, and Brianna Morse, Sarah J. Beth Cook all of White Head Island; three great grandsons, Alex and William Carroll of Campobello, NB, and Mitchell Cook of White Head Island; foster daughter, Dale Doyle of St. Stephen, NB; her special sister-in-law, Gertrude Carroll of Bangor ME. Later in life Mom regressed she enjoyed loving and tender care from both Jenna R. and Carrie B. They became as part of the family and will miss her dearly. Also her closest life long friends from the Island Audrey C., Ella O., Esther R., Mary W., Iva R., and Mirjam C.. She was predeceased by her parents Ben and Lou Paterson; parents in-law, Linwood and Lena Carrolll; one infant daughter; son, David Alan at nine months of age; daughter, Susan Gail who was struck while crossing a street in Kingston, ON, and more recently David Colby who passed away suddenly aboard his fishing vessel "Golden Daybreak" in 2007. Visiting will be held from the White Head Baptist Church on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and the funeral service will be held from the church on Monday, November 2, 2009 at 2:15 pm with Rev. Jim Appleby officiating. Interment will follow at the White Head Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in the care of ELLS FUNERAL HOME INC. 1199 Route #776, Grand Manan, N.B.
