FLEMING, RITA ELIZABETH - The death of Rita Elizabeth Fleming, age 89, wife of the late Samuel Fleming, of Norton, NB, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Friday, November 6, 2009. She was born in Elgin, on April 19, 1920, the daughter of the late Timothy and Elizabeth (Layden) Mahoney. Rita is survived by daughters Elizabeth Sommers of Norton, Dorothy Fleming of Norton, Leona Eatman of Saint John, Debbie Fleming of Norton, Tricia O'Donnell of Sussex, Kathy Ferguson of Sussex and Marjorie Crane of Hammonds Plains, NS; sons William and Marilyn of New Market, ON, Murray, Francis and Paul of Norton, Patrick of Saint John and John of Sussex; 27 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Leona, Evelyn, Helen, Jean, Marjorie and Bernice; brothers Murray, Dennis and John. She is resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visitation on Monday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Norton at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
