SMITH, SHIRLEY - The death of Shirley (Rockwell) Smith, wife of the late Rev. Lloyd Burton Smith, formerly of Starburst Lane, Saint John West occurred on November 6, 2009 at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born in West Saint John on July 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Ira C. and Grace J. (Barnaby) Rockwell. She is survived by her son Howard V. Smith of Saint John, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her parents, her husband Rev. Lloyd, her son Stephen Smith; sisters Jean Rockwell, Vivian Cunningham, Doris Parent, and Ruth Lodge. By request there will be no visiting at the Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 2 pm. Following the service a time of fellowship will take place in the church hall.
