ISABELLA LORENA HATT
HATT, ISABELLA LORENA - Peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB on November 15, 2009, Mrs. Isabella Lorena (McNichol) Hatt wife of the late Arnold R. Hatt formerly of Utopia, NB. Born at Beaver Harbour, NB on June 16, 1918, she was a daughter of the late John Colby and Gertrude Mae (Shaw) (McNichol) Hall. A loving mother, grandmother and aunt she is survived by 11 children, Arnold (Frances) Hatt, Dale (Connie) Hatt, Gertrude (George) Paul and Allan Hatt all of Utopia, NB, Betty Marshall of St. George, NB, Colin (Edna) Hatt of Utopia, Brian (Jane) Hatt, Patricia "Patsy" (Ronnie) Roy and David (Beth) Hatt all of St. George, Jane (Brian) Ward and Dorothy "Dot" (Jeff) Hanley both of Utopia; 28 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband Arnold, she was predeceased by one son, Kenneth Hatt; two granddaughters, Wendy and Jennifer; one brother, John McNichol; two sisters, Elizabeth Clark and Leora Hatt; one son in law, Leo Marshall; and two brothers in law, Aubrey and Sherman Hatt. Isabella was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Isabella spent most of her days being a mother and homemaker. She loved her family who kept her very busy and was well known for her homemade bread. Isabella was an avid Bingo player who liked to do word puzzles, knit and play cards, especially Crazy 8's. Isabella enjoyed her shopping trips, mostly for shoes. She was a member of the St. George Baptist Church and will be sadly missed by all her family and many friends. Resting at the St. George Baptist Church, St. George NB from where the service will be held on Tuesday at 2 pm followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting will be held at the church on Sunday from 7 to 9 pm and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In Isabella's memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
