HETTRICK, GLENETA LOUISE - Gleneta Louise Hettrick of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island, NB passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on Tuesday November 17, 2009. Born the daughter of the late Gleason and Lou Lou (Wilcox) Green on Grand Manan Island on October 28, 1924. She was a member of the Grand Harbour Baptist Church and Gleneta devoted her life to teaching and enjoyed a career that lasted over 38 years where she helped prepare her students for a good start in life following their school years. Spending time reading books, giving endless amounts of time for the Grand Manan Historical Society, Grand Manan Museum, Genealogical Society, and working as the Archivist for the Island for many years were not only her hobby, but her great passion through life. Survived by her two children Colleen Paterson (Philip) of Musquodoboit Harbour, NS, and Christopher Hettrick (Rhonda) of Deep Cove, NB; two sisters Mona Ross of Toronto, ON, Rowena Small (Burton) of Woodwards Cove, NB, and one brother Otis Green (Marjorie) of Grand Harbour, NB. Seven grandchildren, five great grand children and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by one sister Queenie Green, and four brothers Ivan, Donnie, Pearley, and foster brother Payson. The funeral service will take place on Friday November 20th, 2009 at 1:00 pm from the Grand Harbour Baptist Church with Ruth Fair-Parker officiating, and Rev. Kirk Perry assisting.
