NELSON ROY
ROY, NELSON - At the Edmundston Regional Hospital, November 20, 2009, Mr. Nelson Roy, 62, of Grand Falls passed away after a courageous battle with Diabetes. He was the husband of the former Shannon Stevenson. Born at Kedgwick in 1947, he was a son of the late Walter and Anne-Berthe (Belanger) Roy. Most of Nelson's working career was spent managing grocery stores. He owned and operated the IGA store and later the Save-Easy in Grand Falls prior to retiring due to ill health. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Brandon (Karen) of Muniac, Jason (Natalie) of Grand Falls and Jeffrey (Belinda) of Plaster Rock, eight grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Huguette Deschenes (Jacques) of Montreal, Felix of Halifax, Lily Soucy of Campbellton, Noella Blackburn (Michel) of Quebec, Colette Mallais (Raymond) of Moncton, Leon of Degelis, Qc, Leonce of Baie-Comeau, Qc, Romaric (Mary) of Saint John, half-brothers, Leigh Walsh (Suzanne) of Dalhousie and Mark Walsh (Helen) of Truro, NS, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Hubert and step-mother, Therese Roy. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. His funeral service will be held Monday, November 23rd at 2 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls.
