CLAIRE MARJORIE OLSEN

OLSEN, CLAIRE MARJORIE - The death of Mrs. Claire M. (Stoddard) Olsen, wife of the late Allison C. Olsen of Saint John West occurred at her residence on December 2, 2009. Born in Carleton Co. on November 22, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Jennie (Scovil) Stoddard. Mrs. Olsen was very involved with many activities and organizations at the Church of the Good Shepherd including being a member of the A.C.W. Claire and her husband were the owners of the Fairville Fountain in Fairville for over thirty years, as well as operating the Rainbow Diner at Spruce Lake and Olsen's Diner at the Port. In her earlier years, she was a member of the Provincial Ladies Senior Curling Champions of N.B. Mrs. Olsen was a veteran of WW II. She is survived by sons Peter A. (Shirley) Olsen and Eric Olsen, all of Saint John, daughters Sally (Bill) McNulty of Grand Bay - Westfield, and Debbie (Glenn) Davis of Vancouver, B.C., six grandchildren, seven great grand- children and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, brothers Eugene, Gilbert and Paul Stoddard, and sister Wanda Breneol. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701). Visiting on Sunday from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 11 am from the Church of the Good Shepherd, 668 Manawagonish Road. Interment in Church of the Good Shepherd Cemetery. Following the interment, a Time of Fellowship will take place in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Olsen's memory to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cdn Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
