MOORE, FLORENCE - Florence Moore of Saint John, NB passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, December 5, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Saint John to the late Delbert and Anna (Bridges) Moore of St. Martins. She taught for 35 years at New Albert and Barnhill Schools before retiring in 1992. An active member in both church and community, Florence served her church as a lay reader, member of the Vestry, and Christian Women's Club. She was also involved with Girl Guides, the International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons, Probus, the St. Martins Historical Society, the Saint John Volunteer Centre, and Romero House. Florence is survived by her nieces and nephews Robert Dinan of Cape Cod, MA, JoAnne Bryant (Jeff) of Summerville, SC, John Dinan of Cape Cod, MA Karyn Moore, Kim Raithby (Donnie) and Krista Kyle (Murray) all of St. Martins, Kevin Moore (Jen) of Saint John and Matthew Moore (Mandy) of St. Martins; sisters-in-law Patricia Moore of Cape Cod, MA and Adria Moore of St. Martins; aunts Thelma Hatt and Dorothy Bridges both of St. Martins as well as many cousins; several great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers Winston and Daryl Moore. Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Monday, December 7 from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday, December 8 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from All Saints Anglican Church, 35 Park Ave. on Wednesday, December 9 at 11:00 am, followed by a reception. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, St. Martins.
