MACDONALD, MICHAEL ALLAN - 1922-2009 - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan MacDonald on December 7, 2009 at the age of 87. He was born in Chatham, NB and he was the son of the late Alexander MacDonald and Susan (Keoughan) MacDonald. Allan was a veteran of the Second World War where he served overseas with the Royal Canadian Regiment. He was a member of Legion Branch #3. He retired after many years of service with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Etta (Brown) MacDonald and sons; David (Beth) MacDonald of Moncton, Neil (Sharon) MacDonald of Miramichi, Hugh MacDonald of Miramichi, daughters; Susan (Bobby) Bowes of Miramichi, and Heather (Michael) Lloyd of Bay Du Vin. Allan is also survived by nine grandchildren; Andrew & Grant MacDonald, Teri & Karly MacDonald, Chris, Shona & Mark Bowes, Robbie Lloyd and Amy Lloyd Nowlan. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Allan MacDonald will be resting at Maher's Funeral Home Miramichi, NB on Wednesday, December 9th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 10th at 1pm from St Michael's Basilica with Fr John Fraser officiating. Interment will be in St Michael's Cemetery.
