OLIVER, MURRAY ARTHUR - The funeral service for the late Murray Oliver was held on Monday, December 07, 2009 from St. Columba Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dr. Stephen C. H. Cho and The Rev. Dr. Paul Brown officiated the service. Mrs. Helen Humphreys accompanied Lorna Whipple in singing "Amazing Grace" and "In the Garden". A reading was given by Mrs. Marion MacDonald. The pallbearers included Doug Hawkes, Douglas Oliver, Dwight Stilwell, Keith Oliver, Herve Goguen and Alfred Borthwick. Floral tributes were received by Royal Hair Design, Your friends in the Valley Cruisers Car Club and family and friends. Memorial donations were received for Canadian Diabetes Association, with one from Members of the Fundy Region NB A.A.C. and Local 809 Iron Works at Ocean Steel.; the Heart & Stroke Foundation; Canadian Cancer Society, with one from Management and staff at Ocean Steel & Construction Ltd.; Shriner's Hospital, with one from Kitchen Staff of Carleton Union; Lorneville Seaview Cemetery Inc.; Mace's Bay Cemetery; St. Columba Presbyterian Church; Canadian Bible Society; The Gideon Memorial Plan; Stella Maris Church; Lorneville United Church and the Children's Wish Foundation. Interment took place in Lorneville Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Church Hall. The family wishes to thank Extra Mural - St. George, the staff of 4C North and 3C North at the Saint John Regional, Dr. Webb, Dr. Webster and Dr. Connolly, the Lepreau Ambulance and Musquash Fire Department and family and friends for their donations and cards.
