CASSIDY, CHRISTINE GEORGINA - The passing of Christine Cassidy (Kane) of Dipper Harbour, NB, occurred on December 11th, 2009 peacefully in her home with her family and friends at her side. She is survived by her husband Harold Cassidy, daughter Monique (Neil Adey and grandchildren Parise and Xavier) and by brothers Ralph (Pat) and Gary (Debbie) Kane, their families and supportive friends and family. She is pre-deceased by infant son Matthew and by parents John and Bea Kane. She began her education and life lessons in the Dipper Harbour one room school house. She moved to Saint John at the age of fourteen to continue her education at St. Peter's School and St. Vincent's High School. Christine continued her education at St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing until her retirement in October 2009 from the Sister's of Charity at St. Vincent's Convent. Most important to Christine was her love of entertaining her friends and family. She baked and cooked for them and held open house on many special occasions. Christine was a wonderful hostess who truly lived, loved and baked great cookies. The family would like to thank Dr. Jane Ashfield and Lisa White, the staff of Extramural Hospital, along with her family and many friends for their support. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday, December 15, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 10:00 am from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Interment will take place at a later date. Following the service, there will be a reception at the Assumption Center. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
