HANLEY, DONALD D. - It is with great sadness that the family of Donald D. Hanley of Saint John, NB announces his passing, surrounded by his family, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, December 14, 2009 following a brief illness. Born in St. George, NB he was a son of Betsy (Leavitt) Hanley and the late Fred Hanley. Besides his mother Don is survived by his wife Carol Connell, one son, Donald Hanley of Saint John; three daughters: Carolyn Kernighan (Jason) of St. George, Amanda Connell (Ken Britt) and Sarah Connell, both of Saint John; four brothers, Fred Hanley Jr. (Wanda) of Back Bay, NB, Rev. Vincent Hanley (Mary) of Pictou, NS, Larry Hanley (Carol) and Ernie Hanley, both of Back Bay, NB; seven sisters: Geraldine Patterson (Fred), Linda Barwell (Victor), Josephine Patterson (Wesley), all three of Back Bay, Leona MacDonald (Burton) of Kouchibouguac, NB, Iona Thompson of St. George, Dora McCurdy (Alex) of Pennfield, NB and Judy Hanley (Phil Arsenau) of St. Stephen, NB; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 2:30 pm. Interment will be in Fernhill Cemetery.
