Peacefully at the Prince Edward Home on Friday, February 13, 2009, of Mary Handrahan of Charlottetown, age 80 years. Beloved wife of John Handrahan and loving mother of Edward (Carol Bulger), John of Scarborough, Ont., Jean, Brenda of Calgary, Francis and Marlene of Halifax. Mary is also survived by her granddaughters: Samantha Kelley of Calgary and Kim Bulger; grandsons Mathew and Michael Handrahan; great-granddaughter Grace Bulger; and sisters Rita Gallant, Roberta (Berta) Tompkins and Janie MacCormack. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Lena (nee Gaudet) Handrahan; sister Margaret Handrahan; and brothers William (Boy) and Ralph Handrahan. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford. No visitation by personal request. A private funeral service will be held at Stratford Chapel, Hillsboro Funeral Home. Interment will follow later at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
