KELLY, GERTRUDE C. - Mrs. Gertrude Cecilia Kelly of 301 Heatherway, Saint John, NB, passed away on December 21, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born at Fairville, NB, the daughter of the late William Edward Lynch and Margaret Ann McNanley Lynch. She resided in Saint John and vicinity most of her life. A graduate of Saint Vincent's' High School and Mount Carmel Academy, she had worked for many years with the Department of National Defense and Saint Joseph's Hospital, before retiring due to ill health. Mrs. Kelly is survived by one son, Kevin Joseph and one daughter, Nora Ann Thomson (Bob); two grandchildren, Kelly and Andrew; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Jerome Kelly; and one son, Colin Jerome. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (506-634-7424). A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at 11:30 am from Brenan's Chapel, with visiting one hour prior to the service. Following the service there will be a reception in Brenan's Reception area. Interment to take in St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date.
