ROSS, HELEN MAY - The death of Helen May Ross of Riverdale Special Care Home, Hampton, NB, wife of the late Ernest Ross, occurred Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009, at her residence. Before moving into the special care home, Helen resided in Hampton from 1976-2008 with her son-in-law Edward Young. Born in Saint John, NB, on April 27th, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Rose (Stark) Dorey. Prior to her retirement, Helen was employed with Irving Oil as a dispatcher. She was an avid bingo player and loved all types of music. Helen is survived by one daughter, Louise Phillips (Allan) of Virginia; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Dorey of Halifax; as well as, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Helen was also predeceased by one daughter, Barbara Young (wife of Edward Young); one sister, Dorothy and two brothers, Clifford and Norman. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home, 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, (506) 832-5541, with visitation on Sunday from 3 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 28th, 2009, at 1:00 pm, in the chapel of Reid's Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John, at a later date.
