MAGLEAVE, ROLAND THOMAS - Passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009 at the St. Joseph's Hospital. Born on December 19, 1920 in Wigan, England. He was the son of the late John and Annie Magleave. Loving husband of the late Louise Helen (McCarthy). Roland worked for Saint John Shipbuilding until his retirement in 1982. He was a veteran of the RAF and served during World War II. He enjoyed prospecting in early years and was and avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed oil painting as a pastime. He is survived by his son, Mark (Rosemary); daughter, Deborah (Magleave) Paige; step son, Paul L. Watson (Marlene); sister, Joyce Hurst; six grandchildren; one great grandson and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Mona and Alice. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701) visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from Castle Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at the Fallsview Family Reception Center. Donations, in memory of Roland, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
