MURPHY, SHEILA ANN - The death of Mrs. Sheila Ann Murphy, wife of Peter Murphy, of Miramichi, NB, occurred at her late residence on Monday, January 18, 2010 after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Born in Newcastle, NB, she is the daughter of Winnifred "Winnie" (Wood) Foran of Miramichi, NB and the late Winston Foran. Sheila worked for 38 years for the Atlantic Superstore, she was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Newcastle and a former member of the Miramichi Jaycettes. Besides her husband and mother, Sheila is survived by: one daughter: Alicia Murphy, son in law: Travis Malley and grandson: Elliott of Miramichi, NB; four sisters: Janice Desrosiers (Jean) of Dieppe, NB; Deanne Tucker (Keith), Karen Mitchell (David), Teresa Baisley (Gordon) all of Miramichi, NB; five brothers: John (Patty) of Miramichi, NB; Frank (Darlene) of Halifax, NS; Barry (Lesley) of Miramichi, NB; Randy (Angela) of Fort McMurray, AB; Winston (Janna) of Miramichi, NB and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors at Bell's Funeral Home, on Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Newcastle, on Friday at 11 am with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery later in the spring. In Sheila's memory, donations may be made to the St. Mary's Capital Campaign or to a memorial of one's choice.
