GREGORY G. O'HARA
O'HARA, GREGORY G. - In his 103 year of inspiring others and with a twinkle in his blue eyes, Greg O'Hara decided enough is enough. Once he saw that first wrinkle on his smooth Irish skin, it was time to move on to greener pastures. He was born on September 14th, 1907 to Frank O'Hara and Beatrice Henneberry. He graduated with the first graduation class of St. Vincent's Boys High School 1925, and attended Tufts College of Dentistry in Boston. He worked in the United States in postal services as well as in the telecommunications field and retired as a T&R Chief with the CPR. His volunteering was extensive. He sang with the Men of Fundy barber shoppers and he secured the charter for the Ostomy Association. Greg is survived by his sister Helen (Florida), sister in law Marguerite, his son Michael (Anne), children Erin (Dan) and Sean, his daughter Mary Ann (Michael), children Christopher, Adam (Melanie) (Ottawa) and Sarah, his daughter-in-law, Libby, and children Ryan (Sarah) and Megan, and great grandchildren, Justice, Gregory, (Saint John) Ayden, and Isaac (Ottawa). Many nieces and nephews in the city of Saint John as well as the United States and Canada. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 51 years Elinor Rourke, his son Paul, and infant son John Gregory, sisters Irene, (Rourke), his brothers, Charles and Edward. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 12:00 pm from Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. Visiting at Castles "Fallsview" Chapel, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701) on Tuesday and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Following interment, by a reception at the Assumption Center. Remembrances may be made to the Colorectal Cancer Association, Canadian Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund and Our Lady of the Assumption Building Fund.
