LINDSAY, GEORGE - FREDERICTON ENGINEER AND SPORTSMAN DIES - George Lindsay a longtime Fredericton resident, died on 1st February 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, following a bout with cancer. He was 63 years old. The family will receive visitors at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York St. in Fredericton, on Friday evening at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 6th, 2010. A native of Bayfield, Ont., Mr. Lindsay was the eldest child of John and Jeanne Lindsay. He graduated from Waterloo University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's degree in environmental engineering, and worked for more than three decades for the federal government, mostly in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. He retired in 2007. An avid hunter and marksman, George was a founding member of the Fredericton Trap and Skeet Club and a knowledgeable collector of firearms and wildlife art. His love of woodworking, wine making and travel was exceeded only by his devotion to his family. Mr. Lindsay is survived by his wife, Clarkia (Paul) and son Nathan, both of Fredericton; his mother Jeanne and brother Donald (Barbara), of Bayfield, Ont.; two aunts, two uncles and several cousins, nephews and nieces. www.mintofh.com
