JACQUES PAUL MICHAUD
MICHAUD, JACQUES PAUL - Jacques P. Michaud died peacefully on February 3rd, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital Saint John, NB. Born 1933 in Edmundston, NB to the late Joseph and Melida Michaud. Father of Joe, Diane (Doug) and Suzy (Terrence); friend of former wife, Jane; beloved grandfather to Sam, Sydney and Zoë; one sister Lucille Day (Don) one brother Will (Gib); many nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Annette, Alice, Gaby and Jacqueline and brothers Pierre and Jean-Marc. Jacques grew up in Ottawa and Fredericton where his father served as a Federal Cabinet Minister under Prime Minister MacKenzie King and later as Chief Justice of the Court of Queen's Bench in NB. Jacques graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 1956. He worked for the Federal Business Development Bank and Petro Canada until his retirement. During his retirement he used his considerable talents to assist in World Bank projects in the former Yugoslavia and China. In past years volunteer activities included the Shediac Lobster Festival and the New Brunswick Nursing Home Association. Jacques spent his last few years living quietly in St. Andrews-by-the-Sea, NB. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). Following cremation a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
