ELVA EILEEN McGRATH
McGRATH, ELVA EILEEN - Elva Eileen (Chetley) McGrath, wife of the late Sheldon G. McGrath, formerly of Quispamsis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, having turned 90 on February 2, 2010. Born in 1920, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Bertha (Fraser) Chetley. Elva was employed in her early life by Byron Wilson Furriers and was employed by St. Joseph's Hospital in the Housekeeping Department for many years. Elva was a resident of McKellar's Special Care Home in Nauwigewauk for a year and a half after her late husband's death and was a patient at the Saint John Regional for the past nine months. Elva is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Leota Chetley, and her twin sister Elda (Chetley) Hamilton. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701). Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 3 to 8 pm. A graveside service will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations to a charity of their choice would be appreciated.
