ARNOLD H. DICKIE
DICKIE, ARNOLD H. - The death of Arnold H. Dickie loving husband of 63 years to Shirley (Best) Dickie occurred on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born 1922 in Campbellton, NB he was the son of the late Price John and Rose (Colwell) Dickie. Arnold was a WWII veteran and returned to work as a clerk at the Canadian Customs Department. He was a member of United Commercial Travelers, Branch #53 Royal Canadian Legion, a life member of Lions International and twice past president of the Saint John Lions Club. Besides his wife Shirley he is survived by his sons John (Carol) Dickie of Garnett Settlement, David Dickie of Saint John and Bill Dickie of Calgary, AB; daughter Elva Rose Dickie of Saint John; very special loving niece Wendy White; brother Gordon (Marilyn) Dickie of Calgary, AB; sisters Pauline (Phil) Smolett of Campbellton, NB, and Kathleen "Kay" (Len) LeBlanc of Moncton, NB; sister-in-law Anna Claire Best; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Margaret and Bob Whittaker; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one son Glenn, brothers Stewart and Maxwell, sisters Constance, June and Rosamond, granddaughter Kimberley Dickie and step-granddaughter Natalie Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Friday, February 19, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, with a Tribute to a Veteran Service at 7 pm. Funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 2 pm. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
