FORWARD, James O. — Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Saturday, February 14, 2009, James O. Forward of Carbonear, age 91 years. Predeceased by wife: Sybil M.; son: Garfield; sisters: Ada Vaness and Elizabeth Green; brothers: Jack, Wilson, Steward and Hayward; sisters-in-law: Georgina MacDonald, Lucy Forward, Elizabeth Forward (of Wilson), Elizabeth Forward (of Fred) and Phyllis Thoms; brothers-in-law: William Thoms, Frank Thoms, Fred Thoms, Joseph Green, Alex MacDonald, Joseph Power and David Winstanley; Leaving with fond memories: four daughters: Pearl (Clarence) Barnes, Halifax, NS, Patsy (Lloyd) Yetman, Carbonear, Peggy (Lorne) Case, Salmon Cove and Martha (Melvin) Sharpe, Upper Island Cove; two sons: James (Grace), Carbonear and Myers (Georgie), Salmon Cove; daughter-in-law: Maureen Forward, Harbour Grace; fifteen grandchildren: Debbie (Roger), Bonnie (Shawn), Scott (Corrina), James (Ann), Jennifer (Dean), Corey (Megan), Michelle (Leo), David (Satya), Heather (Mitchell), Michael (Kim), Justin, Vicki, Lorna, Jarrod and Robert; fourteen great-grandchildren: Amy, Travis, Garrett, Jillian, Hannah, Eva, Erin, Drew, Sarah, Andrew, Rachel, Jaydon, Ashley and Kent; brother: Fred Forward, Carbonear; sisters-in-law: Leona Forward, Carbonear, Audrey Forward, Buchans, Scenith Winstanley, Ontario, Phyllis Power, Carbonear and Linda Thoms, Bell Island; brothers-in-law: Jim (Mary) Thoms, Ontario and Guy (Gladys) Thoms, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
