Emmerson Malcolm Steeves

Emmerson Malcolm Steeves 1924 - 2002 Emmerson M. Steeves, 77, of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, May 01, 2002. Born in Marysville, NB, he was the son of the late Herbert R. and Edith G. (Dennison) Steeves. He was retired from Canadian National Railway as a conductor in 1985 after 46 years of service. Emmerson was a member of the CN Pensioners Association and was a recipient of a 55 year membership pin to the United Transportation Union. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Petitcodiac Branch #41 for 57 years, a member of the CNR War Vets Association and was a founding member of the Moncton Main Brace Naval Veterans Association. Emmerson was a veteran of World War II serving overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy. He is survived by five Daughters, Debbie of Calgary, Cindy Steeves and her fiancée Rick Dunn of Moncton, Joan Graham (Dana ) of Welsford, NB. Tammy Murray (Mike) of Rothesay and Patricia Beers (Chris) of Saint John; three sons, Michael "Mike" Steeves (Rhonda Lynn) , Rod Steeves (Lorna) and Stephen Steeves (Cheryl) all of Riverview, fourteen grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Bruce of Vancouver, BC and Eloise King of Truro, NS; brother Harold Steeves of NS. and by several nieces and nephews. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview with visitation on Friday, May 3, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home on Saturday, May 04, 2002 at 2:30 pm with Pastor Dwayne Storey officiating. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 6 Moncton will conduct a veteran's service at the Funeral Home on Friday, May 3, 2002 at 7:30 pm. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations to Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or to Memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
