EDNEY, Mary Alice (nee O’Brien)— Passed peacefully away in her 95th year at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on February 15, 2009, with her loving family at her side. Predeceased by her husband Bill (1974) and her only son David (1996). Leaving to mourn with fond memories her loving daughters: Margaret Croft (Ron), Rosena Murphy (Wayne) and Paula Tapper (Sean); her daughter-in-law Bonnie; her 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren whom she treasured dearly; her sisters: Sr. Magdalen (Presentation Convent), Ephrem Day and Rita O’Brien and her sister-in-law Stella Edney. Also leaving to mourn her two “adopted” granddaughters and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including her bowling buddies, WI Torbay friends and her club crowd. She meant so much to so many and will deeply be missed. There is one more angel in heaven. Visitation will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Monday and Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to take place on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Spina Bifida Association.
