William (Bill) Lawrence Jonah The death of William (Bill) Lawrence Jonah, 71 years, of Lutz Street and formerly of Queen Street occurred after a courageous fight with cancer on Sunday June 23 at the Dr. Georges-L Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born in Moncton on March 10, 1931, Bill was the son of the late Albert and Ada (Wilson) Jonah. Bill had been employed with CNR as a truck driver and retired after 35 years service. An avid pool player he was interested in all kinds of sports and especially enjoyed watching boxing and horse racing. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch #6, the I.O.O.B. Moncton, the CNR War Vets and the CN Pensioners. He is survived by his sons Kim and David of Toronto and Kevin (Esther) of Havelock; two granddaughters Allison and Elizabeth Jonah and special friends Nellie Haining and Peter MacCoubrey. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was predeceased by his parents; one sister Alberta Mann and a brother Arnold Jonah. By request there will not be any visiting hours prior to the Memorial Service which will be held on Tuesday June 25 at 2pm in Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hatt officiating. Cremation and interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Bill's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to offer a special thank you to all the staff of the Dr. Georges-L Dumont Hospital who looked after their father during his illness. Their kindness will not be forgotten.
