AMEDEE J. ''P TITMEDE'' CORMIER 1918 - 2002 Amédée J. "P'tit Médé" Cormier, 84, of Gauvin Rd., Dieppe passed away on Monday, July 15th, 2002 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton. Born June 3th, 1918 in Madran, he was the son of the late Léon Cormier and the late Marie Vienneau. He was a veteran with the Royal Canadian Army during World War II having served overseas in France and Holland and was employed with C.N.R. before taking his retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6 in Moncton, a member of the Dieppe Veteran's Ass., a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus, Council # 1310, a retired volunteer fireman with the Dieppe Fire Dept. and a member of the Golden Age Club in Dieppe. He is survived by his wife Eveline (LeBlanc) Cormier; four daughters, Denise Gagnon (Emery) of Irishtown, Yvette Cormier of Dieppe, Cecile Mazerolle (Guy) and Joanne Cormier (Gary Knott) of Moncton; two brothers, Léandre (Lorette) and Alcide of PetitRocher; three sisters, Bertha Landry (Cléophas) and Henrietta White (Valmond) all of Beresford, Esther Frenette (late Philippe) of Québec; five grandchildren, Marc and Gilles Gagnon, Nicole and Daniel Mazerolle, Christine Cormier-Knott and a great grandson Samuel Gagnon. He was predeceased by his adopted son Edgar LeBlanc; five brothers, Mathias, Philippe, Roger, Antoine and Arthur Cormier; and two sisters, Victoria Roy and Léonille Lagacé. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 88 Church St., Moncton (8581900) with visitation on Tuesday from 7 to 9p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 4p.m. and 7 to 9p.m. and on Thursday from 10a.m until time of departure at 10:40a.m. The funeral mass will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, July 18th, 2002 at Ste. Thérèse Roman Catholic Church in Dieppe. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dieppe. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday by the Dieppe Veterans at 7p.m. and by the Knights of Columbus, Council 1310 at 7:20p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of N.
