Hartley Watson is survived by his loving wife Christina, son Ross, daughters Catherine and Ilene, granddaughters Shannon and Emily, sisters Doris and Shirley, brother Mervin, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister Verna. Hartley was born in Success, SK, and recalled his prairie childhood with fondness. He joined the Canadian Army in 1940 and served in reconnaissance in WWII in France, Germany and Holland. He was an active member of the War Amputations of Canada. Hartley attended Fort Camp, now UBC, and graduated with a Masters in Social Work. Hartley was Deputy Warden at Haney Correctional Institution and then Director of Springhill Penitentiary in Nova Scotia. He was active in Rotary and The Canadian Legion. In his retirement years, Hartley enjoyed being by the sea at Deep Bay. He will be deeply missed by friends and family. There will be a private family remembrance.
