Rev. Harold A. Jones HILLSBOROUGH, NB - Rev. Harold A. Jones 62, of Hillsborough passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday November 30, 2002. Born in Halifax, son of the late Arthur and Ethel (Newport) Jones. Harold spent his early childhood in the North End of Halifax, attended Richmond School, Queen Elizabeth High School and St. Mary's University. Before entering the ministry he worked for the Bank of Montreal in Riverport, NS and Sherwood, PEI, he entered Pinehill Divinity School and graduated with the first class from the Atlantic School of Theology. He served his mission field experience in Muskoka Falls, ON. After graduating he served in the Lower Musquodoboit Pastoral Charge, Stewiacke Pastoral Charge, New Church Development at Stilesville, NB, Donald Pastoral Charge in Hammond River, and Hillsborough. After retirement he served briefly at Trinity United Church, Riverview and Mount Royal United Church, Moncton. He was honored to be elected Minister Emeritus of Hillsborough United Church, former Padre of Hillsborough Legion #32, Past President of the Moncton West Riverview Rotary Club, Past President of the Tuesday Seniors Bowling League, Riverview, member of Howard Lodge #15 F & AM and an active member of Burro Hills Golf Club, Hillsborough. Harold will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 36 years, Elaine (Wadman) Jones; daughter, Sarah Ann Hope (Wayne), Moncton; brothers, Roy (Janet), Victoria, BC; Robert (Edna), Bald Rock, NS; Arthur (Lynda), Annapolis Royal, NS; sisters, Hilda Russell, Halifax; Dorothy Conrod (Lorne), Beaverbank, NS; Barbara Stark (Garnet) Erskine, AB; Sally Morash (Reg), Cole Harbour, NS; Linda O'Leary (Wayne), Dartmouth; sister-in-law, Muriel Jones, Dartmouth; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Andrew, Gordon, William; one sister, Elizabeth. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Tuesday 2-4, 7-9. Howard Lodge #15 memorial service Tuesday evening 6:45pm. Funeral service at Trinity United Church, Old Coach Road, Riverview, Wednesday December 4, 2002, 1pm, Rev. Mary Rowe, Rev. Carol Mullin, Rev. Glen Spears officiating. Reception following the service.
