Kay passed away peacefully on Valentine's Day at the Rimbey Care Centre, Rimbey Alberta, at the age of 96. Born and raised in Wynyard, Saskatchewan, our valentine spent most of her adult life as a very active community member in Prince Albert. As a life member of IOOF Golden Links Rebekah Lodge, Kay treasured her 75-year membership pin, and among other accomplishments, was always proud of the contribution her branch made toward building the Peace Arch on the BC/Washington border. Church was always very important in Kay's life, and she and her first husband, Bill Bague, were founding members of Calvary United Church, where she served as President of the UCW, and helped to organize the construction of the church hall and finally the church as well. She and Bill were part of the volunteer group that built the first community hall and skating rink in Prince Albert, on the East Hill. She always felt very fortunate for the opportunity to work with wonderful co-workers during her long career with the provincial government, working in Land Titles and Forestry branches. Kay (Nancy to her siblings) was predeceased by her first husband Bill Bague, and by her second husband, Art Ellison, with whom she shared a happy retirement. She is survived by her son, Jim Bague (Shirley) of Rocky Mountain House; her daughters Marnie Veitch (Ted) of Victoria, Sharon Mandin (Gene) of Lethbridge, and Bette Laughy of Langley; her stepdaughter, Sharon Eggum (Kris) of Prince Albert, stepson Bob Ellison (Linda) of St. Albert; and her sister, Shirley Jackson (Clarence) of Emma Lake, and sister-in-law, Dora Collins of Lumsden. She will be missed by 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, by nieces and nephews, and by cousins in England and Scotland. Since moving to Alberta, Kay dearly missed, will be mourned by, her many friends in Prince Albert, particularly her best friend, Gladys Gillies, and all "her girls" from Rebekahs; and by her friends at the Clearwater Centre in Rocky Mountain House. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Calvary United Church in Prince Albert on Monday, Feb. 23, at 1:00 P.M. and interment will follow in Memorial Gardens. Donations in Kay's name may be made to Golden Links Rebekah Lodge or Calvary United Church appreciated in lieu of flowers. Rocky and Sylvan Lake Funeral Homes and Crematorium, your Golden Rule Funeral Homes, entrusted with the arrangements. 403-845-2626
