It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Marion Bond, 89, of Glace Bay, on February 16th, 2009.
Born in Sydney, Marion was the daughter of the late John E. (Jack) MacLeod and his wife Margaret Ferguson MacLeod. Marion was employed at T. Eaton Co. in Glace Bay. Marion was also employed at T. Eaton Co. in Toronto, while living in Scarborough. She was a member of Warden United Church, Glace Bay and attended West Minister Presbyterian Church while in Toronto.
Marion is survived by daughters Ruth (Gene) Harnett and Warna Fraser; son James B. (Jim) Bond; brothers Earl (Dean) MacLeod of Sydney, and Allister MacLeod, Ontario; grand-sons Ryan, Craig and Marc Harnett, Ontario, Warren and Jamie Fraser, Alberta; granddaughters Cyndie Fraser, Ontario, Carrie Lynn (Rory) Bradshaw B.C., Ruth (Jamie) Anderson, Glace Bay; Great grandsons Frasier, Hunter, Fabian, Logan and Linden, great granddaughters Brooklynn, Jill and RoryLynn.
Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband Byron Bond, Son-in-law Fabe Fraser, Great grandson Matthew Bradshaw, brothers Morris and Ralph MacLeod, sister-in-law Gloria MacLeod and Charlotee MacLeod.
Visitation for the late Marion Bond will be held Friday, February 20, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Warden United Church with Rev. Clayton Austin officiating. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
