MACDONALD-RIGGS, Catherine– Passed peacefully away on February 16, 2009, Cathy Macdonald-Riggs, age 46 years. Left to celebrate her life and give thanks for cherished memories are her husband Charlie and her children Alex and Claire; her father Robert Macdonald (mother Rosemary Macdonald, predeceased April 17, 2008); sisters Anne (Michael Bautista, Lesley, Jenny, Kathryn), Sheila (Richard Ryder, Jessica, Stephen) and brother Rob (Nancy Macdonald, John, Ella); mother-in-law Joan Riggs; sisters and brother-in-law Tina (Rob Dawe, Jordan, Sarah, Mark), Lisa (Tom Starkes) and Murray. Cathy did not choose this path, but as she walked it, she faced its many challenges with determination, quiet strength and humour. She appreciated her family and her many friends and neighbours who chose to walk parts of her journey with her. The family wishes to thank Dr. K. Tompkins, Dr. K. Grewal and the Haematology medical staff; Dr. P. Rockwood, Dr. J. Greenland and the staff of 4 North A; the nursing staff and Josie at ATP and especially Pam Rudkin. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Friday, February 20, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Church.
