Sheldon Wayne "Shelly" Somers OTTAWA, ON - Sheldon Wayne "Shelly" Somers passed away suddenly in hospital in Ottawa, Friday, March 7, 2003 at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Joyce, loving father of Carolyn (Jim Oliver) and Christopher. Much loved grandfather of Erica. Fondly remembered by his brother Glenn of Edmonton, AB; nephew, Alex; cousins, Deanna and Ray Knapper of Riverview, NB; brother-inlaw Rev. Msgr. Francis Coyle of Montreal; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Moncton area. Predeceased by parents Evelyn (née Hamilton) and Herbert Somers of Moncton, NB. Shelly joined the Military Apprentice Soldiers in 1956 and served with Canada's Armed Forces as a munitions specialist in Germany and throughout Canada. He retired as Master Warrant Officer in 1983 and continued to serve at National Defence H.Q., Ottawa, as a Public Servant until his retirement in 2000. Visitation was held at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2370 St. Joseph Blvd., Orleans, Monday, March 10, 2003. Funeral Service was held Tuesday, March 11, 2003 in the Chapel at 11 am officiated by the Rev.
