Alderice "Al" Sonier

Alderice "Al" Sonier Alderice "Al" Sonier, 83, of Fernwood Ave., Moncton passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2003 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Lewisville, January 15, 1920, he was the son of the late Edgar Saulnier and the late Eva Boudreau. He was a veteran during World War II, having served overseas with the 14th Canadian Field Ambulance R.C.A.M.C. for 5 1/2 years. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Service Depot #5, Moncton. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 6, Moncton, a past member of the Lakeside Golf Club and he attended St. Louis-de-France R.C. Church, Moncton. He is survived by his wife Rita (LeBlanc) Sonier; a daughter, Joann Sonier of Fredericton; two sons, Rick and David (Stella) of Moncton; four sisters, Jenny Arsenault (Tex) of Ottawa, ON., Dot Ahearn of Halifax, Marg Brown (late Jim) and Lorraine LeBlanc (Bob) of Moncton; three brothers, Edgar (Meg) of Toronto, Eddie (Hélène) and Léonard (Madeline) of Moncton; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 88 Church St., Moncton (8581900) with visitation on Friday from 2 to 4p.m. and 7 to 9p.m. and Saturday from 9a.m. until time of departure. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2003 at St. Louisde-France Roman Catholic Church, Moncton. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dieppe. The Royal Canadian Legion of Moncton, Branch #6 will hold a service of remembrance on Friday evening at 7p.m. at the funeral home. In his memory, donations may be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital.
